Heather we always love reading your updates!! This one as usual did not disappoint! Cringing at what you’re made to go through and laughing at how you relate it. Be assured the Lord has used you to encourage others and be a witness for your Savior. Dad and I pray for you every day ( as do many others). God bless you and be with you during your upcoming treatments. You are one brave lady. We love 💕 you, Mom and Dad M.
Again, Heather, thank you for such a full description. It sounds like a souped-up version of the radiation treatment I had for Prostate cancer back in 2015. No tattoos or sharpie pens for me; it was all done from info from my CT scan. The radiation room was cris-crossed with green laser beams, against which I was aligned face down on a motorised bed. Then I was supposed to relax completely while micro adjustments were made. Typical conversation; Nurse, "Relax. Just relax all those muscles"; Me, petulantly, "I am relaxed!" Nurse; "No you're not. You're all tense....." Then the enormous Varian radiation head would make a complete vertical circuit all around me, firing off 20 MeV x-rays in three 12-second bursts, left, right, and from below. I visited Ninewells hospital 20 times for this ; hope that you get away with just three!
I'll ensure that SABC know about your treatment at the prayer meeting on Saturday.
Your post brought back memories of my battle with cancer (some 10 yrs ago)--the aids and nurses I had were so compassionate and gentle(as they could be ) --still hold them in high esteem. Praying for you and the Docs and Nurses .... Tom
Hi Melissa! I used to live in NC but now live in Scotland. I've gone to NC for my neurosurgery treatment, though, and both places feel like home and have part of my heart.
