My sister is here! My sister is here!
She leaps Covid test hurdles in a single bound! She flies through the air and navigates multiple airports with ease! She handles the assault of paperwork and passenger locator forms and quarantine verification! She’s my Super Sister! And I get to have her here for the rest of the month!
I don’t know that helping me stand up with my walker or refilling my water qualify exactly as a fun-filled excursion to Scotland. But I’m so glad she’s able to be here—there’s no one better to watch sports with, to tease me for having too many shoes [but really there’s no such thing!], and to talk for hours about everything and nothing. Sure, we’re both stuck in this house—me due to mobility, her due to quarantine rules—but we’re loving the time together!
Inquiring Ears want to hear the Biopsy Results!
The results are here! The results are here!
My wonderful oncologist called Tuesday with my biopsy results. Here is the short version: The tumor is malignant (that wasn’t really news—we were all fairly certain that was the case), and it is estrogen receptor positive (ER+). And that means we have treatment options!
I’ll have blood work done tomorrow to help the oncologist determine which estrogen blocker might be most effective in starving this cancer. It looks like there might be some additional treatments we can add, and we’ll be discussing those in the coming days. We can’t know for sure what this might mean for the future and my fight for time—but I am so grateful for today’s mercies. I am grateful for treatments to try, for intrepid intercessors, and for glimmers of hope.
Praying for you everyday. Love Aunt Donna
Heather! What great hope. So pleased your sister is here, that’ll give you a much needed dose of home and happiness. I can imagine the laughter.
Praying the Lord will Hold you close during the times of testing a new meds, and I will hold you close to my heart and in my prayers. Cxxx
